This post by Erin (Hodne) O’Brien!
I wanted to share some news with you all. I am not sure if you are aware of a non-profit organization called Stupid Cancer. It’s a US-based charity that addresses issues of young adult cancer (for people battling cancer and survivors under 40) through advocacy, research, support, social media and more. It was founded in 2007 by a young cancer survivor named Matthew Zachary.
They host all sorts of cancer summits, including OMG Cancer Summit for Young Adults, CancerCon, and The Stupid Cancer Road Trip among others. This year, CancerCon will be in Denver, Colorado.
Anyway, the alumni association at Hole in the Wall Gang Camp has chosen me and 2 others to go out of hundreds of Alumni!! All expenses paid including airfare! It is a 3 day event in Denver! I can choose to go to different workshops and learn and listen to all different stories as well as share my own.
If you want to support Stupid Cancer you can donate to the page or pick up some awesome Stupid Cancer gear at the website below! I will be sure to support some gear at this year’s Buckley Family Weekend!!
